One of the things I’m quite shy about is jumping up and down and boasting how much tax I’m going to save people. The reality is that if I simply get on with my job quietly, on average, I probably do save my clients circa £2,000 to £3,000 every year.
However, I did recently save one of my clients about £28,000. Essentially, I read the paperwork carefully, and then used my technical and practical experience to sort the matter out. (HMRC were pulling a stunt, and I spotted it !!!).
And that’s it. Sometimes it’s not as exciting and glamorous as it appears on TV or in films – sometimes you just need a Friendly Accountant quietly doing his job.
