My wife and I were honoured to be invited to the House of Lords by Lord Blunkett to hear Jonny Wilkinson speak. I was lucky enough to ask him a question : Jonny, you have a reputation for being calm under pressure. This is important in sport, business and in life generally. However, passion is also important. Did you ever see ’the red mist’ in a big game ? Jonny’s response was that he was always aware of where the line was, and that if he over-reacted, he was putting his team and the game at risk. Wise words – keep cool even under intense pressure. However, we should be passionate about our businesses and life in general – maybe direct our passion to making positive decisions.
